Maureen Fox - Trip Leader
Maureen was born and raised in Aspen, CO. She graduated in 2006 from Lewis & Clarke in Portland, OR with a degree in English. During college, Maureen studied abroad in Argentina. Maureen was the Spanish Apprentice at HMI for the fall semester of 2007 and is currently taking her NOLS Instructor Course in the Wind River Range. She is Wilderness First Responder certified.

Danny O'Brien - Trip Leader
Danny hails from Providence, Rhode Island and is a graduate of Middlebury College in VT. He joined HMI in 2004 as the History teacher for the Rocky Mountain Semester. He is currently the Director of Admissions. He taught in a variety of settings before coming to HMI, including in The Bahamas at The Island School, and in the public schools of Breckenridge, Colorado and Providence, Rhode Island. Danny has also worked as an expedition leader for a variety of organizations, including Longacre Expeditions and Camp Pemigewassett in New Hampshire. He is Wilderness First Responder certified.

Forrest Mehlhorn - Trip Leader
Forrest is finishing his junior year at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, NH this spring. He was a camper with Kieve for two years; participating in Long Voyage and Kieve West. He then worked on the Snowgoose with Captain Mike Requa for a summer. This will be his third year as a trip leader; the first session with Kieve West and returning to Kieve for the balance of the summer.

Phil Samaha - Trip Leader
Phil comes from Darien, CT and this will be his fourth summer working as a staff member for Kieve. He attends Castleton State College in Vermont and will be graduating by the end of next year with a Business Marketing degree and Outdoor Education. He has been involved with the Outing Club for quite some time as well. This past fall semester Phil completed a NOLS Rocky Mountain Semester involving backpacking in the Wind River Range in Wyoming, technical rock climbing in South Dakota, Cayoneering in southern Utah, and tellimark skiing in the Absorka's. He is very excited to partake in the Kieve West experience during the first session. Phil is also a wilderness first responder.

Jean Vose - Administrative Assistant
Jean joined us in April 2006 and brings tremendous administrative skills and a natural camp spirit. Jean has an extensive background in medical and educational offices and is also a Registered Nurse. She is a Master Gardener, certified horticulturist and beekeeper. Jean and husband Dick live in Nobleboro and have 9 grand children.

Henry R. Kennedy - Executive Director
Henry has been at Kieve his whole life. He was a Kieve camper from 1967 through 1972 and a counselor from 1973-1980. Over the years, it is fair to say, Henry has been on every one of Kieve's trips. Henry is a graduate of Colby College and is the executive director of Kieve-Wavus Education, Inc. Henry oversees the entire Kieve operation but lives for the summer to be out in the Maine wilderness with the campers and counselors alike. He lives in Cumberland, Maine during the school year and the Red Farm House during the summer months with his wife B.J., daughter Blair, and son Sam.

Russ Williams - Development & Communications Director
In addition to being the Development Director, Russ coordinates all the the program brochures, newsletters and website updates. For Kieve West specifically, he oversees the design and implementation of the "Camper Connection", a very popular website function, updated with photos during re-supplies and that allows parents to view thousands of camper pictures all year round. Russ is also the 9/11 Family Camp Director.
