Forrest Mehlhorn
I have just finished my junior year at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, NH and had a great year. I was a camper with Kieve for two years on the trips Long Voyage and Kieve West. Then I worked on the Snowgoose with Captain Mike Requa for a summer. Now I am embarking on my fourth year as a counselor; half for Kieve West and half at Kieve. I am very excited for this summer to start and cannot wait for all the KIDS!!!

Danny O'Brien
Danny hails from Providence, Rhode Island and attended Middlebury College in VT. He joined HMI in 2004 as the History teacher for the Rocky Mountain Semester. He is currently the Director of Admissions. He taught in a variety of settings before coming to HMI, including in The Bahamas at The Island School, and in the public schools of Breckenridge, Colorado and Providence, Rhode Island. Danny has also worked as an expedition leader for a variety of organizations, including Longacre Expeditions and Camp Pemigewassett in New Hampshire. He is Wilderness First Responder certified.

Phil Samaha
I'm from Darien, CT and this will be my fourth summer working as a staff member for Kieve. I am attending Castleton State College in Vermont and will be graduating by the end of next year with a Business Marketing degree and Outdoor Education. I have been involved with the Outing Club for quite some time as well. This past fall semester I completed a NOLS Rocky Mountain Semester involving backpacking in the Wind River Range in Wyoming, technical rock climbing in South Dakota, Cayoneering in southern Utah, and tellimark skiing in the Absorka's. I am very excited to partake in the Kieve West experience during the first session. I am also a wilderness first responder.
